Spanish fullback Alberto Moreno put in another impressive performance for Liverpool yesterday, consistently getting forward and helping us creatively in Southampton’s half.
But it was a piece of defensive action that impressed the most, with this superb tackle on Sadio Mane Moreno’s highlight. The Southampton attacker is certainly no slouch, but our 23-year-old hunted him down before timing a perfect slide tackle in the penalty area.
If he’d have got it wrong it would have been a stonewall penalty, and it’s just a shame that our defence wasn’t this courageous when the Saints equalised late on.
