Emre Can is in line to start in Germany’s Euro 2016 semi-final against France, according to their boss, Joachim Low.

Can has not yet seen any game time in the tournament after being an unused sub in all his side’s games so far. However, Germany have been hit with injuries and suspensions – Sami Khedira and Bastian Schweinsteiger are both out of the game – and Low has backed Can to step up.

“You can use Emre Can in many positions. He’d be a player who would do well for our game,” he said (via official site).

“Julian Weigl is also a very good player, though, just a different type of player. We will wait for two or three more days and then we’ll see how the decision plays out.

“Joshua Kimmich is not under consideration out of the six. I have other central possibilities.” (via official site).
