Pescara will not be making a move for Mario Balotelli this summer.

The newly-promoted Serie A minnows have been linked with the unwanted striker throughout the summer, but they’ve now officially ruled themselves out of the running.

“Balotelli and [Pablo] Osvaldo are great players,” said Pescara’s president, Daniele Sebastiani.

“When they want to play they are top names, but they are are not suitable for Pescara.”

The comments were reported in Gazzetta World.

He also appeared to suggest that he wouldn’t be changing his mind as the transfer window nears its conclusion in a few weeks.

“We need to bring in another two or three players, no more.

“It is clear that on the last day of the window we will try to put the icing on the cake- we will not be caught unprepared”
