Leicester City have received a boost ahead our game against them next weekend with the news that Kasper Schmeichel will almost certainly be fit to take his place between the sticks.

The title-winning goalkeeper had a hernia operation last Monday and it was initially thought he might be forced to miss the Anfield game as a precaution.

However, according to the Metro, he returned to the gym last Wednesday and was hopeful of playing for Denmark against Armenia on Sunday.

Ultimately, he was not fit for that game, but he will be included in the squad that travel’s to Liverpool for the next Premier League game.

Schmeichel began his career at Man City in 2005 but has been at Leicester since 2011 and has made 203 league appearances for the Foxes. He also has 22 caps for Denmark.

If he is not fit, either Ben Hamer or Reto Zieler would take his place in their starting eleven.
