Leicester keeper waxes lyrical over Liverpool’s most dangerous trait

Leicester City keeper Kasper Schmeichel has been talking about how impressed he was with Liverpool in our 4-1 win over his side this weekend.

Two goals from Firmino, along with a strike each from Mane and Lallana, made sure we put the reigning champions to the sword in our first home game of the new season.

Schmeichel says it was our pace which most impressed him.

“They’re a good side. They’re very fluid and it’s difficult to track the runners all the time.

“You’ve got to give credit to Liverpool. They played well. We weren’t at our best, but a lot of credit goes to Liverpool because they were very expansive. They’ve got pace to burn on the wings and they cut inside a lot, so it’s very difficult to defend against,” he said (Echo)

Of course, he was made to look at bit foolish by this pace when new signing Sadio Mane beat him in a foot-race to the ball in the 88th minute, ultimately leaving Roberto Firmino with a simple tap in.

Robert Huth also echoed his teammate’s opinions, saying we look like a great side this season.

“We had momentum but we couldn’t capitalise on the header from Huthy (Robert Huth). It’s tough. Liverpool look a very strong team this season. They look confident in possession and they never really gave us a chance to play our game.”

It’s always nice to get praise from other players, but what part of our display against Leicester impressed you the most? Let us know in the comments section down below.
