Pearce- Klopp will go all out to buy €17m star in the summer

The Liverpool transfer rumours promise to continue right up until the summer so we might as well embrace them.

James Pearce, of the Liverpool Echo, has fuelled already-existing reports that Jurgen Klopp is keen on bringing Bayer Leverkusen talent Julian Brandt to the club when the window re-opens.

Speaking in an interesting interview with the Anfield Edition, he said: “I’m not sure if he’s the No 1 target but he’s certainly very high up on Klopp’s summer shopping list. Klopp wanted to buy him in January but Leverkusen were adamant that he wasn’t for sale. Klopp rates Brandt very highly and Liverpool will certainly go all out to get him this summer.”

Brandt is perhaps the only obvious target at the moment with it becoming increasingly hard to distinguish between the transfer news we can take seriously and the news we should simply ignore.

It was recently revealed that the 20-year-old has a release clause of €17m, which becomes active in 2018. This would seemingly make him well within our reach this summer.

As important as it will be to sure up our defence in the transfer window, bolstering our attacking force is also key. Brandt poses as a player capable of playing with the intensity and the work rate Klopp demands, as well as providing quality in the final third.
