Liverpool are battling Bayern Munich for teenage prodigy

Liverpool will have to fight off competition from Bayern Munich if we’re to secure the services of Borussia Dortmund’s brilliant talent Christian Pulisic.

The American is still only 18-years-old, but is a starter for Thomas Tuchel’s Bundesliga outfit already.

He’s extremely talented and looks destined to become one of Europe’s best attacking midfielders, but obtaining him is going to be extremely difficult. Not only has he recently signed a contract extension, but the Mirror report that Bayern want to poach him – having previously signed Mario Gotze (since returned), Robert Lewandowski and Mats Hummels from their rivals.

Jurgen Klopp tried to buy Pulisic last summer, but we were rebuffed, and with the playmaker coming on leaps and bounds, it’s not going to be any easier this time around, although he remains on our shortlist.

For us, Pulisic seems an unrealistic target at this stage. He’s happy with Dortmund and the club have no intention of selling. Julian Brandt of Bayer Leverkusen may come a little easier, though. His contract expires in 2019 and his side are not going to be able to offer him Champions League football for 2017/18, which we hopefully will.
