Liverpool have received a significant boost in their pursuit of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain with the midfielder’s future having seemingly been decided.
The 23-year-old has rejected a take-it-or-leave-it contract offer from Arsenal and now favours a move to Anfield, according to the Times’ Jonathan Northcroft.
Reds fans will also be pleased by the Englishman making playing time and development his priority, as opposed to the wage increase Arsenal offered in a last ditch attempt to keep him at the club.
Selling him seems the logical option for the Londoners given the risk of losing him on a free when his current deal runs out next summer.

Jurgen Klopp’s history of getting the very best from his players is why Oxlade-Chamberlain is keen on working under the German as he looks to finally fulfil his potential.
In a mixed 2016/2017 season for Arsenal, the former Southampton starlet was a standout performer and understandably grew frustrated by the lack of opportunities in his favoured central-midfield position.
Though Klopp cannot promises him a regular starting spot at Liverpool, the German can assure him a role as a key contributor in midfield, thanks to not only his preferred 4-3-3 setup but also the club’s busy schedule.
Greater strength in depth is sure to inspire the Reds boss to mix things up from time to time with Oxlade-Chamberlain’s versatility and all-action expertise promising to make him a perfect fit to the current Liverpool approach.
If anyone can help a man of his undeniable talent finally excel, it’s Klopp.
