Naby Keita update; Actual price LFC set to pay is jaw-dropping

So, here’s the deal…

Liverpool want Naby Keita this January and the player himself is desperate to bring forward his scheduled summer move.

Rb Leipzig would prefer to keep the Guinean, obviously, but are not completely refusing the possibility, should Liverpool pay a serious fee this month.

German reports stated a fee of around £13m would be enough as an extra premium on top of the money we’re already going to pay to clinch his signing, but Melissa Reddy in Goal has denied this.

She says no fee has been decided by the Bundesliga club, but that the overall cost of the transfer could reach around £75m if we do get him this January – a full £27m above his £48m 2018 release-clause that we activated early last summer.

Paul Joyce in the Times backs up these claims, suggesting Keita is learning English and has had problems with the Rb Leipzig dressing room, with team-mates believing his heart is no longer in it.

Should Rb show any indication that they’ll allow Keita his wish, Liverpool will make it happen.
