Dominic Solanke hasn’t found the back of the net for Liverpool’s first-team yet, but for the U23s, he’s more than good enough.
Last night in the Premier League Cup, the young Englishman notched a hat-trick against Stoke U23s in a 4-0 thrashing away from home.
His first was a smart right-footed finish, his second a brilliant left-foot strike and his last a tap-in following an error from the keeper.
It was a very clinical performance actually, which showed the kind of composure and calmness he’s so far lacked when deployed under Jurgen Klopp.
We really hope Solanke can get off the mark properly before the end of the season.
The upcoming match with FC Porto could be the perfect opportunity.
