Liverpool fans seem to have allowed themselves to forget and forgive with regards to Raheem Sterling.
After a surprise report from Sky Sports claimed the former Reds forward was far from an agreement with Manchester City over a new contract, much of LFC Twitter seemed united in their openness to bringing him back to Anfield.

Now, while there’s no doubt Sterling’s exit left a sour taste at the time, there’s an extent to which you have to just accept this is part of the modern game.
In fact, by most footballers’ standards he’s clearly a pretty good bloke, and that’s before you even take into account how superb a player he is.
The England international had one of his finest seasons last term, scoring 23 goals in all competitions to help fire City to the title – among those were some quality strikes and important late winners.
Let’s face it, with the Nabil Fekir deal looking dead in the water, you’d take him. Not saying it’s at all realistic at this point, but at least fans seem agreed that we’d be happy to have him back at this point…
Seeing all this talk about Sterling Tbh even though he snaked us I'd still take him back in a heartbeat he's quality pic.twitter.com/HjJQwfOjRf

Would have Sterling back in a heartbeat but if he can’t agree a deal with City his wage demands must be way out of our range.
