Liverpool dealt injury blow ahead of Fulham fixture

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson will miss this weekend’s trip to Craven Cottage and is a doubt for England’s Euro 2020 qualifiers this month.

The midfielder was taken off early on during our Champions League clash with Bayern Munich this week, but it seems like it may have been more than just a precaution.

Jurgen Klopp doesn’t expect to have Henderson back until after the international break. “With Hendo we make further assessment and it’s serious enough probably to rule him out of the weekend and the international break will be long enough hopefully to bring him back,” he told Liverpoolfc.com at his pre-match conference.

It’s a little one with the ankle, how it looked in the first place. It was the best scan we could get, I would say, but still not good enough. Not good but okay,” he added.

Henderson has been playing some good football in the last couple of months and the squad will miss him this weekend. It’s almost certain Fabinho will reclaim his spot in the team.

Some fans aren’t so keen on the England international but his season began to turn around following a gut busting performance at Old Trafford in February.

England play two Euro 2020 qualifiers this month against Czech Republic and Montenegro and the Liverpool captain was set to feature, but it now looks as if he’s a doubt for Gareth Southgate.

Trent Alexander-Arnold looks set to be Liverpool’s solo representative for England this time around.
