Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Andy Robertson should be back for the game against Wolves at the weekend, having earlier been thought to be a doubt, while he reiterated that Roberto Firmino will miss out.
The Scot came off in the 4-0 win over Barcelona on Tuesday night but has apparently recovered enough to be in contention.
Jordan Henderson is expected to be back as well, as Klopp revealed that there was a particular phrase heard multiple times in the dressing room this week.
Via Neil Jones, Klopp said: “The famous words in the dressing room this week for everyone is, ‘it’s only pain’. Hendo said it, Robbo said it, but it was real pain.
“They should be fine. Firmino, not for the weekend. Mo looked good. He was running outside and will be part of training.”
Beat Wolves, and you never know what can happen. It will take a big performance from Brighton for them to get anything, but stranger things have occurred already this week.
Whatever happens, the Reds simply have to make sure they finish the season on 97 points – a remarkable achievement in itself.
