Incredible squad value report proves just how far Reds have progressed under Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool have come a long, long way under Jurgen Klopp’s guidance – that is simply unarguable.

Reaching a second Champions League final in a row – and a third European final in the space of three seasons – as well as collecting 97 points in the Premier League this campaign is remarkable, especially when you consider where the club was at in 2015 when Klopp arrived.

A lot of that improvement has come in the recruitment of players, with the likes of Andy Robertson and Mo Salah, among others, bought for far less than the market value that their talent has subsequently shown them to warrant.

As the below tweet shows, the Reds’ squad is up there with Manchester City’s despite their owner’s riches – because Klopp and Michael Edwards have spent exceptionally savvily.

With Trent Alexander-Arnold coming through the academy, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and many other’s values far exceeding their cost when purchased, and the whole squad looking deeper and stronger in all areas, the club has been transformed.

Manchester City’s squad is even stronger in terms of depth thanks to their financial might, but the CIES reports often put a lot of focus on the age of players, hence why the Reds are valued equally to them. Liverpool’s squad, with the likes of Trent and Joe Gomez, is younger overall than City’s in terms of the key players in the team.

For the Reds to be anywhere near the top of that list, though, is sensational. It just puts into perspective where the club is at right now – and it’s only going to continue improving.
