Oxlade-Chamberlain has ongoing calf injury which makes him ‘not part of the game’

It’s been brilliant seeing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain back on the football field this summer.

The midfielder missed almost the entirety of the 2018/19 campaign with a knee injury he picked up the season before last – but he’s now well and truly on the mend and has played an hour in our past two friendlies.

Jurgen Klopp though has admitted that Ox has an ongoing issue with his calf, which flares up with intensive running – and can stop him being involved for the duration of a match.

‘Two games in a row with 60 minutes. That is very important. He has been a bit unlucky with a calf problem. It is not a tear but something he has from time to time when the intensity gets too high for him,’ Liverpool’s manager told the Daily Mail.
