We think Naby Keita is going to have a superb season for Liverpool, following a difficult debut campaign in which injury stopped him from ever cementing a spot in the side.
In terms of talent though, we’d argue the Guinean is actually our best midfielder – which is high praise considering he’s competing with Fabinho, Gini Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson, among others, for game time.

Versus Lyon last night, the 24-year-old made his first appearance of the summer – and looked decent against the French in our 3-1 win.
Keita has bulked up and looks like he’s been spending time in the gym, which enabled him to win the ball back in the middle on more than one occasion.
He did nothing special, but looked confident and happy to drive with the ball and also try to battle opposing midfielders when they were in possession.
A promising start, for sure.
