Raheem Sterling’s agent says he wants to move to Chelsea or Manchester City

More now on that extraordinary interview from Raheem Sterling’s increasingly lovable agent, Aidy Ward…

This ongoing contract saga took another dramatic twist on Thursday after these quotes from Ward were published by the Evening Standard. He used his brief foray into the limelight to call Jamie Carragher ‘a knob’ and to claim that his client wouldn’t agree a new contract even if he was offered £900,000-per-week.

What he’s also done, is declared Chelsea and Manchester City the favourites for Sterling’s signature. According to the Standard, Ward isn’t interested in Real Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern Munich and would prefer to stay in England.

His exact quote reads: “I am not worried. Worried is making a decision not knowing what is going to happen. Every Premier League club will make a bid for him,” although the report doesn’t actually include quotes about Sterling’s preferred future destination.

The Daily Mirror reported earlier this week that City were sizing up a £40m bid, despite Liverpool ruling out a sale under any circumstances. The Mirror also came out with this piece of tripe on Wednesday, claiming that the Blues would sell both Oscar and Juan Cuadrado to fund their own bid for the 20-year-old.

Sterling was booed by Liverpool fans as he collected his Young Player of the Year award on Tuesday. He’s set to meet with Brendan Rodgers and Ian Ayre on Friday to discuss his future and only then are we likely to know more.
