Our young winger Sheyi Ojo is spending the season on loan at Championship outfit Wolves, and making his first start last night, he registered an assist in a 2-1 League Cup victory over Newport.
Picking the ball up on the left wing, Ojo cleverly crossed for Nouha Dicko – who flicked past Joe Day.
Hopefully the performance (by all accounts Ojo gave a good account of himself), will earn him a start in the Championship at home to Hull next weekend.
The 18-year-old will need to impress if he’s to stand a chance of ever progressing into our first-team plans. Ojo should try and follow the example of Jordon Ibe from last season, with the 19-year-old shining at Derby, before Brendan Rodgers brought him back from the loan spell early and integrated him into the starting XI.
