Liverpool’s injury list is growing at an alarming rate one week before the start of the Premier League season…
This weekend saw two fixtures take place, but wonderkid winger Sheyi Ojo didn’t feature in either because of a back injury, according to the Echo.
The problem isn’t serious, but Ojo remained at Melwood during the weekend to receive treatment. The 19-year-old isn’t expected to be available to play against Arsenal next weekend, but in truth he was unlikely to start anyway.
Lucas, Loris Karius, Mamadou Sakho and Joe Gomez are all currently sidelined while James Milner and Daniel Sturridge face a race against time to be ready for the Emirates clash as well.
It’s hardly consolation, but Arsenal have a raft of injuries as well, including centre-backs Laurent Koscielny, Per Mertesacker and Gabriel – so in that respect – we’ll be competing on a level playing field.
If Milner and Sturridge don’t make it, expect Alberto Moreno to play at left-back and Roberto Firmino to lead the line respectively.
