We have just brushed aside reigning Premier League champions Leicester City with a magnificent performance in the first home game of the season.
A Firmino brace underpinned the win, with Mane and Lallana also grabbing important goals. Jamie Vardy pulled one back for the visitors midway just before half-time after a Lucas error.
It leaves us with seven points from four games, three of which have been against last season’s top three. Next up is a trip to London to face Chelsea next Friday.

Fans have been reacting to the performance on Twitter, and unsurprisingly they are all absolutely delighted.
Here’s a taste of what is being said, let us know what you thought!
Never bought into the idea Firmino only brings goals & work rate (hardly a bad thing if that was all). Excellent all round there. #LFC

Let’s hope we can make Anfield a proper fortress this season. Certainly a fantastic start!

It finished 4-1 to Liverpool but it could easily have been 7-2

Barring Lucas’ howler, i thought that was brilliant!

Another positive – European football starts this week. All our competitors start to play more games. We know it makes a difference.

Great performance. Firmino was fantastic – man of the match for me – but Lallana superb, Wijnaldum very good too. #LFC

Top performers? I’ll go with Firmino, Mane, Lallana, Sturridge, Milner. In that order. Wijnaldum had his best game for us today as well.

People said Mané overpriced. On this form he would have been cheap at *twice the price. Sublime movement from front 6 and full-backs.

A brilliant performance. A little shakey after Lucas’ mistake but otherwise we looked formidable. Henderson deserves a lot of credit.

Link up between Mane and Firmino was breathtaking at times. Sturridge had a good game.

So many good things going forward for #LFC today. But Matip looks like the dominant, commanding centre back we’ve desperately needed.
