Klopp comments might hint at Danny Ings involvement against Derby County

Danny Ings could be in line to play some part of our game at Derby County tomorrow.

With the exception of a brief cameo as a late sub against West Brom on the final day of last season, Ings has been absent for almost a whole year.

He was just finding form and had broken into the England side when he damaged his ACL in a training session.

He has not yet seen any competitive action so far this season – despite playing a considerable number of minutes in our pre-season games.

In his press conference before the Derby game, he professed his admiration for how hard Ings was working, and vowed to give him some minutes as soon as the chance became available.

“Danny is working hard and good, but the situation is like it is – we have a lot of strikers,” he said.

“He is close… what can I say? He is a wonderful boy. It’s not the easiest thing when a player works really hard and then he is not involved, so of course you want to give the player something back for the unrest.

“It is not always possible – but as soon as it is possible, I will pay back.” (official site)

Will the chance be tomorrow night against Derby County? Only time will tell.

Would you start him in the League Cup? Let us know in the comments.
