The Danny Ings injury has hit everyone associated to Liverpool hard, but none more so than the player himself, of course.
Yesterday, news broke that the 24-year-old striker, who missed almost the entirety of last season with an injury to his ACL, has injured his other knee and will miss 2016/17 as well.
That’s two of the best years of his career entirely written off.

Now, Ings won’t be worrying about eventually getting into Liverpool’s XI, but getting fit enough to make it as a professional footballer full stop.
But typical of the man, Ings is focussing on the positives. He’s retweeted artist Banksy, who wrote this earlier today:
Always be thankful for what you have.

Pretty fitting, really. We wish Ings all the luck in the world for a hopefully speedy recovery. He’s obviously too down right now to post a proper message, but we’re sure one will arrive in time.
