Exciting news for fans as Reds star makes significant progress following return from injury

Sheyi Ojo’s lengthy absence through injury may have been overlooked by neutrals, but Liverpool fans have been waiting for this young star to return ever since he was sidelined in pre-season.

He poses as a serious candidate to take advantage of Sadio Mane’s departure for the African Cup of Nations in January and step up as an attacking option for the first team.

The 19-year-old made significant progress towards reaching his full fitness last night and took to social media to recognise his recovery.

Ojo was a standout performer for the U23s side in yesterday’s 1-1 draw against West Brom, providing the assist for Cameron Brannagan’s equaliser and having a shot cleared off the line.

The first team opportunities for less experienced youth players than Ojo such as Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ovie Ejaria and Ben Woodburn highlights what a great chance the teenager has of featuring at the beginning of next year.

Klopp will always be mindful of the quality across the youth system and has already demonstrated how his faith in the club’s youngsters could impact his transfer policy in the January window.

We sense it won’t be too long before Ojo gets another opportunity in the senior team.
