(Video) Lovren and Lallana the latest Reds to exhibit tough pre-season training

Social media has been a useful platform of late for Liverpool’s players to show fans what they have been getting up to since the end of the season.

The hard work has stretched long beyond the club’s decisive Premier League finale against Middlesbrough with Jurgen Klopp’s men striving to keep themselves in peak physical condition in preparation for a huge 2017/2018 campaign.

Dejan Lovren and Adam Lallana have both taken to Instagram to give supporters a brief insight into their training regimes, following up a similar demonstration from Daniel Sturridge.

There is no off season…??

There is something strangely heroic about Lovren’s workouts, boasting similar traits to the dramatic training scenes in a Rocky Balboa film.

The Croatian has been subject to criticism at stages since his move to Liverpool, but nobody can have faulted his effort, commitment to the cause or just how much he privileges his position at the club. Though his training is unlikely to be a direct response to Liverpool’s reported pursuit of a new central defender, it is a refreshing example of a player working hard to fight for his place.

While Lallana’s approach is less explosive on this occasion, it is yet another reminder of the hard work that takes place behind the scenes.

Inevitable summer signings will not only bolster the squad’s strength in depth but perhaps also give current first team stars a healthy new fight on their hands and a fresh drive to continue progressing.

Recent weeks have similarly seen Sturridge provide a fitness update from Los Angeles with footage of the specific exercises designed to target areas that have been responsible for his countless setbacks.
