Respected journalist Reddy releases new, exciting Keita update; LFC confident

We reported this morning that Liverpool have had a £57m offer for Naby Keita rejected by Red Bull Leipzig and now, Melissa Reddy has confirmed the news in Goal.

Liverpool have put our cards on the table and let the Germans know we’re willing to pay enormous money for the 22-year-old, Jurgen Klopp’s primary midfield target this summer.

Although Leipzig have publicly stated the Guinean isn’t for sale, today’s reports suggest that many board members now believe a deal is sensible – considering Keita wants to leave and the fact they could sell him for five times what they paid for him (€15m) just last summer.

Reddy’s update is that Keita will now hold yet more talks with his club to reiterate his desire to sign for Liverpool.

They rejected his opening attempt, as they did ours, but like Liverpool, Keita’s going to persistently knock on the door until it hopefully opens…

We expect now that with RB weighing up their options, the move will progress, considering our enormous potential offer and the player’s feelings.

A new bid will be tabled next week.
