Danny Ings potential new January club named

It looks like Danny Ings could make a step down to the Championship in January.

The Englishman has returned to fitness, but only plays for the Under-23s and has no visible prospects of a spot in Jurgen Klopp’s first-team.

Roberto Firmino, Daniel Sturridge and Dominic Solanke are above him in the pecking order and with Klopp showing no sign of changing formation to fielding two central forwards, Ings is unlikely to play before Christmas – especially now we’re out of the League Cup.

ESPN claim that Leeds United will make an enquiry as to his availability.

They’ll be able to offer Ings the first-team football we cannot and he’d be an excellent replacement for Chris Wood, who interestingly now plays for Ings’ old team Burnley.

We wouldn’t begrudge him a transfer. The player is 25-years-old and has barely featured for over 24 months.

He needs minutes and a manager who trusts him. Whatever the transfer fee, we’ll support Ings’ decision.
