News broke last night that Nathaniel Clyne will be out for three more months having just had surgery on his back issue.
The player will therefore not be available for selection until around February, meaning he’ll have just a few months to get fit, get in our side and fight for a World Cup place.
At the moment, you’d suggest Clyne’s chances of going to Russia are slim.
The player has been very quiet in his absence, but today took to Twitter and promised to work hard in his recovery to get back as soon as possible.
Frustrating period for me but hopefully now things are on the up! Had a small & successful op and working hard to get back on the pitch #YNWA

It’s been almost forgotten by many, but it’s no exaggeration to say that before this campaign, Clyne was Liverpool’s most consistent defender for the past three years.
Kyle Walker is considered an elite right-back and just cost £50m, but Clyne was keeping him out of the England starting XI at one stage.
Thankfully, Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold are providing fantastic cover in his absence.
We wish Clyne all the best in his recovery.
