Two City players show class on Twitter with pro-Liverpool messages

Bar maybe Raheem Sterling and Ederson, Manchester City’s players seem a fairly decent bunch, to be fair.

They’re incredible footballers and have deservedly waltzed the Premier League title, although in no way did they deserve to progress to the Champions League semi-finals based on the two legs at Anfield and the Etihad.

What Liverpool fans sounded like outside the Etihad last night…

Liverpool won 5-1 and Benjamin Mendy, who’s prominent on Twitter and Ilkay Gundogan, less so, made a point of congratulating our players and wishing us luck in the rest of the competition.

Next season, we really hope to compete with City in both the Premier League and the Champions League.

Our showing in Europe proved that on our day, we’re as good as them, if not better – but it’s consistency that wins league titles.

At the beginning of the campaign we racked up too many draws, while City have been almost faultless domestically from August.

A few summer signings in key positions will help.
