Three Liverpool players look likely to leave the club before next week’s transfer deadline, according to a report from Goal.
It’s nothing much to worry about, however, with Lazar Markovic, Sheyi Ojo and Pedro Chirivella the players mentioned in Neil Jones’ report.
None of these realistically look anywhere near our first-team at the moment, so it makes sense for Jurgen Klopp to trim the squad down while he can in the next few days.
It’s a bit of a shame to see Ojo fail to develop after showing some real promise early on for us, but the added competition for places obviously hasn’t helped either.
With Liverpool spending big on some top players this summer in midfield and attack, it’s inevitable that some of our youngsters would have to move on.
Goal do add, however, that it looks like Divock Origi could be staying at the club after we pulled out of loaning him to Borussia Dortmund.
The Belgian is said to have impressed in training this week, so could be a useful backup option this term.
