Both the Reds and Manchester City have 10 matches to play in the Premier League title race – and based on results from previously this season, there are plenty of reasons to be cheerful.
City beat West Ham United 1-0 at the Etihad Stadium whilst the Reds were destroying Watford, meaning there is still a one-point gap between us and them in the league table.
As Josh Williams pointed out on Twitter, though, the Reds have an advantage when it comes to the games that are left.
If you look at the reverse fixtures from earlier in the season for the teams which both us and City have remaining, we picked up nine wins and a draw, four more points than City against their respective remaining opponents.
30 points remaining then.
Based on the reverse fixtures Liverpool pick up 28 points. Man City 24.

Clearly, just because that happened earlier in the season, it does not mean it will happen again, but it does prove that the Reds are in a brilliant position.
We’ve got the points total against those teams before – now let’s do it again and finish the season strong.
