LFC loanee already makes impression in pre-season training

Sheyi Ojo’s pre-season has already begun, and the Liverpool youngster is already showing promise at Rangers.

The English winger is spending the campaign under the guidance of Steven Gerrard, who used his Liverpool connections to loan another of our prodigal talents, having already enjoyed the benefit of Ryan Kent in 2018/19.

Ojo has been on loan plenty of times already; most notably to Rennes in France last year – but the feeling is that he’ll need to really take Scotland by storm if he’s to have a genuine Anfield future.

“I have heard some good things about Sheyi,” Tavernier told the Rangers official website. “I heard Don Cowie who was at Wigan with him said he was a really good player so he is obviously as excited player for us to get.

“I have seen in the past couple of days how strong a runner he is. I can’t wait to see him out on the pitch properly.”

While Jurgen Klopp is going to give Harry Wilson and Ryan Kent minutes this summer in the pre-season friendlies, Ojo has not been awarded such a luxury – likely due to his failure in Ligue 1 – while the British pair were doing wonders for Derby and Rangers respectively.

Physically Ojo is the strongest and quickest of the trio and therefore has the most scope to develop into an elite Premier League attacker.

But at 22-years-old, it’s now or never for the flyer who was once rated as our next Raheem Sterling.
