Liverpool join queue for impressive Salzburg midfielder – report

Liverpool beat Red Bull Salzburg 4-3 in the Champions League on Wednesday night, and there were reports floating around that Arsenal scouts were in attendance.

As per this report by the Daily Mirror, representatives were at Anfield to watch Dominik Szoboszlai on behalf of the Gunners, but they aren’t alone in their intrigue.

The left-sided central midfielder performed well enough for a teenager playing away at Anfield for the first time, and showed flashes of why European giants are supposedly keeping an eye on him.

Reports in Italy are linking Liverpool with a move for the 18-year-old, with Serie A giants Juventus are Inter also said to be interested.

It’s unclear just how involved the Reds are, but it isn’t out of the question that Jurgen Klopp could be after another youngster after snapping up Harvey Elliott and Sepp van den Berg in the summer.

As per Calciomercato, Liverpool are in the queue with Premier League rivals Arsenal for the Hungarian and a bid of around £15million would be enough to prise him from Salzburg.

Szoboszlai, should he join the Reds, would likely be fighting with Curtis Jones for a spot on the senior team’s bench so I’d lean toward this rumour being near false.
