Danny Ings will start his pre-season schedule sooner than the rest of the team as he tries to get himself fully prepared for the campaign.
Ings missed most of last season following knee ligament injury in early October. Intensive rehab and a faster than expected recovery period meant he defied the odds to come off bench on the final day of the season, but he remains woefully short of match fitness and match practice.
According to the ever-reliable Neil Jones of the Echo, Ings has told the club of his desire to come back sooner:
Danny Ings will return to training early this month, and is desperate to make up for time lost last season. #lfc (Neil Jones – Echo)
