Mario Balotelli is in talks with French club Nice over a move.
According to the Echo, he was absent from training at Melwood today after being granted permission to speak with the Ligue Un outfit.
A fee has not yet been agree upon, but discussions are continuing.
Liverpool are confident that if Mario accepts the offer, the deal can be concluded swiftly.
“I don’t know him personally, but if he runs and wants to help the youngsters, then why not?,” said Nice boss Lucien Favre.
“If he doesn’t want to run, then there’s no way he’ll come here.”

Nice finished fourth in the French league last term and were bought out by Chinese and American investors over the summer. They’ve enjoyed a solid start to the new campaign, beating both Rennes and Angers 1-0 in their opening two games.
The Echo also confirmed that talks with FC Sion are ongoing, but that Nice had now become the favourites to land him.
